.NET Trainings & User Groups

.NET User Groups

A “.NET User Group” is an association of professional software developers who want to facilitate an exchange of experience and information. Such user groups are usually maintained by dedicated people in their free time.

User Groups in Germany

Many user groups in Germany are supported by the umbrella organization INETA (International .NET Association). INETA not only provides sponsorship funds, but has also initiated a speakers office. The speakers – often themselves leaders of a user group – are reimbursed for travel expenses, for example, when they speak in front of a user group. Not every .NET User Group is automatically supported by INETA – you have to meet certain acceptance criteria.

INETA Europe supports .NET User Groups in all countries. Experts can be requested via the international speaker office who can give lectures at User Group meetings. INETA’s monthly newsletter provides community information as well as information on upcoming meetings and user group events.

International Conferences

Developer Open Space

This is a very special (un-)conference. The focus here is clearly on sharing experiences and getting to know people. Instead of being exposed to a constant stream of lectures as usual, this meeting does not require a strict agenda. Users generate their agenda on the fly and there are also great workshops and parties you can attend.

Microsoft BUILD Conference (BUILD)

Since 2011 Microsoft hosts the yearly BUILD conference. In 2018, it took place at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. There, Microsoft presents the latest developments. Those who can not attend the event live, have the opprtunity to watch the live stream instead.

.NET Conf

The .NET Conf is a 3-day developer conference hosted by the .NET Community in cooperation with Microsoft. The great number of live sessions with experts from the .NET community and the .NET production team offer many opportunities to learn and ask questions. Whether you are a beginner or professional, there is something for everyone.

E-learning plattforms

A good starting point to the world of programming with .NET are e-learning platforms. You will find everything you need, from beginner courses to the expert workshops. The main providers of programming courses are:

  • Codecademy
  • Careerfoundry
  • Free Code Camp
  • General Assembly
  • Khanacademy
  • Onemonth
  • OSTraining
  • Treehouse
  • Udacity
  • Udemy

Learning from home is the trend. After all, here you are independent of timetables and can organise your time according to your own ideas. Meanwhile, there are already many platforms where you can communicate with the trainer for possible questions and consolidation. Whether you want to learn how to program games or develop your first app yourself: E-Learning platforms offer a very good alternative to conventional courses. More about the best e-learning platforms can be found on Testberichte.com. Here, the Testberichte editorial team has thoroughly tested and evaluated all well-known providers.

In addition, Microsoft also offers a very good selection of tutorials, workshops and forums. But also, the one or the other YouTube video can help very well.
